Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important representative stated the attack rendered him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
